The Love Letter
When I was child my Nana had two black and white photographs of Micheal Collins. One of him in uniform and one of his funeral.  Her brother Harry was a runner for the Irish Republican Army. When Collins was ambushed and killed, Harry was the young man that led his funeral. I was fascinated by the stories about my great uncle and of Micheal Collins and his supposed affair with Lady Hazel Lavery. This letter is a figment of my imagination. The date is a couple of days before Collins was killed. The letter is from Lady Lavery and addressed to Collins at his office where she used to meet him. The idea is that it was in his pocket close to his heart when he was shot and the bullet pierced the envelope.
